Video Camera
The small video camera is simple and carefree. It easily attaches to the microscope, offering high resolution (480 lines), incredible depth-of-field and low-light performance. This is due to our patented virtual beamsplitter technology. Learn More »

Digital Camera Adapter
The use of digital photography has rapidly become an integral tool in today’s dental practices. It is particularly powerful when combined with the benefits of the dental microscope. The Global XMount and SLR XMount integrate most of the popular digital cameras with the microscope. View Movement.

Automatic Framing
When taking photographs through the microscope, the images captured are exact replications of what the user sees. "Framing" is automatic. Additionally, the process of taking the picture and judging the results can be done in seconds. There is virtually no interruption to the treatment. Additionally, the wide optical path of the XMount and SLR Mount allow for faster shutter speeds, thus reducing blurring.

Electronic Documentation
Entire procedures can be documented electronically, allowing for efficient archiving in the patient records, communication with referring colleagues and insurance companies, and excellent preparation for case presentations. Also, this type of system is compatible with digital radiography systems.

Educating Your Patient
Perhaps the greatest benefit of being able to take pictures through the microscope is the ability to gain patient acceptance of treatment. Those cracks that cannot be seen with the naked eye can easily be seen through the microscope and then shown to the patient via the digital camera image. The patient is able to see the clear, high-resolution image that the dentist sees.

Virtual Beamsplitter
The Global Virtual Beamsplitter is a major breakthrough in the way video documentation is captured through the microscope. It redirects a small amount a light to the camera (less than 5%), while most of the light is still available to the operator.

Traditional 50/50 Beamsplitter
A traditional 50/50 beamsplitter contains two cube prisms. These prisms reflect 50% of the available light across the area of each prism through partially reflective coatings. The reflected portion of the light then goes through an iris diaphragm to a video camera. The other 50% is transmitted across the area of the cube prism to the primary user.
Virtual Beamsplitter
The light is not split via partially reflective coatings. It is accomplished by having a totally reflective coating across a very small area of the beamsplitter, while
the remaining area is completely transmissive. This means the primary user receives 96.5% of the light across a very large area of the beamsplitter. The camera receives 100% of the light across the small center area. The net result is indistinguishable light loss to the primary user and all the light required for outstanding video results.

Traditional 50/50 Beamsplitter Cube Prism Virtual Beamsplitter™ Cube Prism
As an added bonus...with the Virtual Beamsplitter™ technology in action, the video camera receives the same amount of light as a traditional beamsplitter with an effective iris half the size normally required. The results in incredible video depth of field.
